Math Curriculum Adoption

Math Curriculum Adoption

The Hamblen County Board of Education is currently reviewing curriculum materials for adoption in grades K – 12 for mathematics. The new curriculum will be implemented in School Year 2023-24 and remain the district’s foundational curriculum for the next 5 to 7 years.

The district’s adoption committees, made up of outstanding teachers from every school in the district, are currently evaluating curricula from six different textbook companies that have been approved by the Tennessee Department of Education. These materials, all deemed by the TDOE to be high quality instructional materials that meet all state requirements, will be presented to the committee members and all teachers in the district on February 6th from 8:00am to 12:00pm at the Central Office at 210 East Morris Blvd. The public is invited to attend these sessions and may contact district staff at anytime between now and March 1st to request access to the materials being considered for adoption. For further information, contact Buddy Smith or Chris Greene at 423-581-3118. A schedule for February 6th can be provided upon request.
